Biography   

Bethany Broekema was born in 1985 in Grand Rapids, Michigan

She made her first public appearance at a local karaoke contest in Grand Rapids in August 1997, in which she won first place. A month later, she was asked to sing the National Anthem at a 3-day Klein Rodeo in Sparta, Michigan, where she performed annually for the next three years. Also that year, Bethany Traveled to Nashville to record a two-track demo at Hill Top Recording Studio where many country greats have become legends.

The next year brought several new experiences for Bethany. In 1998, she traveled to Branson, Missouri to complete in a national Karaoke contest sponsored by Pepsi. She once again received first place. In July, she performed at a benefit concert where she opened for The Moffatts, a young male group who has had several successful national albums. A month later, she was invited by the City of Grand Rapids to sing the National Anthem at the city's first Grand Prix Race.

More success was on the way in April of 1999. Bethany became a finalist in the Wild Horse Saloon Singing Contest held at Downtown Disney in Orlando, Florida. In November, Bethany appeared on ABC-TV's morning talk show "The View". Barbara Walters and her co-hosts chose Bethany from more than 700 talented artists to perform live for their audience. She was chosen for her unique ability to yodel.

Participating in the Grand Rapids karaoke Idol, March 13lh 2003, she once again received first place standing and a cash prize of five hundred dollars.

In November of 2003, she received recognition by winning first out of 600 nationwide contestants in the Samsung Britney Spears Karaoke Tour Contest. With the contest she was able to travel to Capitol Records in Hollywood, California where she met Britney Spears and recorded a two-track demo.

Bethany moved to Branson, Missouri in 2005 to pursue her recording career and vocal coaching. While there she had the privilege to record in the studio of 7-time Grammy winner Charlie Chalmers. This legend helped her lay tracks to five original songs, adding to her long list of accomplishments.

These days, you will find Bethany back in her hometown of Grand Rapids performing in country clubs, hotels and making special appearances. She is being produced by Ed Russell for Castle Records Nashville who has signed Bethany to an Artist Producer Development Agreement.
