Ed Russell a/k/a Eddie Ray Nashville's Golden Bear Of Country Music

Ed Russell, Came to Nashville in 1961 as a songwriter and performer. Born in Kentucky, later tagged as " The Golden Bear of Country Music ". In 1970 he began working in the music publishing business for several publishers and later started his own publishing company with BMI. He has written over 450 songs. 

Ed Russell, has produced several major and independent artists for the major and independent record companies. He worked as a record promoter in 1975 and at that time, he received a gold 45-RPM Record for his promotional contribution on  IF TEARDROPS WERE PENNIES “, recorded by Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton. In 1980, for his promotional contribution on the Alabama album, “ MY HOME’S IN ALABAMA “, he received a Quad Platinum Album.

Also in 1980, Billboard and Cashbox found top honors for his single of “ WHISKEY TALKIN’ WOMAN “ and in 1985 both his “ OLD LOVERS AND FRIENDS “ Album and single took top honors.

In 1980, The Florida State Country Music Association voted “WHISKEY TALKIN WOMAN” as Record Of The Year. And in 1985 voted Eddie Ray’s “ OLD LOVERS AND FRIENDS “ as Album Of The Year.

Ed Russell, known by his peers as " Eddie Ray " has used his ability to produce great artists like Carl Butler, Roni Stoneman, Conway Twitty, Jeff Golden, and Kebo Cyrus, just to mention a few. He further was chosen to produce the Roy Acuff tribute video.

In 1990, Ed Russell produced a two-hour music talk show from the Hall Of Fame, Music City USA.

Ed Russell along with Tower Management Group are currently managing, Abby Fletcher, , Eddie Ray II, Bridgett Elise and the Estate of Grand ole Opry star Carl Butler.

On August 16, 1991 Ed Russell was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel.

On June 2,1996 Ed Russell, along with John Anderson, was inducted into the Florida Country Music Association’s " Hall of Stars Hall of Fame ".
